History
Lingueglietta is a village in the Cipressa municipality. The village was inhabited in the early Middle Ages. It was incorporated into the Cipressa municipality in the 12th Century. The Earl of Laigueglia built a castle in Lingueglietta in the 13th Century. The San Pietro Church was rebuilt into a fortress for protection against pirate attacks in the 16th Century. Lingueglietta was given an award as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy in 2008.

Lingueglietta is part of the Cipressa municipality and is a village in Imperia Province located in the Liguria region. There are several other villages near Lingueglietta like: Boscomare (3.8 km) Costarainera (2.5 km) and Cipressa (3.5km).Take the highway exit Imperia Ovest from Genoa and take the SS1 towards San Remo. Thereafter, take the SP45 up to Lingueglietta.
