Vasia is very suitable as a starting point for hiking tours around the hills in the Prino valley. You should absolutely not miss the hiking tour on top of Acquarone (732m). When you go on this tour, you can enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Liguria region and also its uniqueness through the olive groves and vines. These regional products are quite important economic factors for the region. For 40 years now the traditional feast of chestnut products has been taking place annually in Vasia. This locality forms a good base for different leisure activities.
Vasia, Pantasia and Pienavia already formed the Schlossvogteil of Prelà Superiore, whose origin can most probably be traced back to its foundation by the Benedictine monks from the San Martino Church. These monks were in charge of agricultural production in the region and they therefore promoted olive growing.

Vasia belongs to the municipality of Dolcedo and is one of the villages in the province of Imperia which lies in the Liguria region. There are several other villages near Vasia, and they include: Pianavia (2.0 km), Pantasina (4.3 km) and Prela Castello (2.9 km). When coming from Genoa, take the highway exit to Imperia Ovest. Drive along Colla Street towards SP40 up to Vasia.
