Visit the town of Rezzoaglio during your holiday in Liguria, Italy and discover the Ligurian hinterland.
Rezzoaglio
Fascinating natural scenery in Val Fontanabuona and beautiful churches and fortresses
The feast of the Celts who braved the long cold winters and lived principally on hunting, honey, wild fruits and a bit of farming, takes place here at the Lago delle Lame every July. Their way of life life and culture are re-enacted there.
The feast of the Patron Saint Madonna della Neve is celebrated in August in the village of Villa Cella.
Although Rezzoaglio lies high up in the mountains, an excursion there is worthwhile not just for hikers because of the landscape found there and the River Aveto with its picturesque and at the same time wild appearance, but also because the cultural aspects appear impressive on account of the many castles and churches in this area.
Despite its size, the little hamlet has over 1000 inhabitants, referred to as the "Rezzoagliesi"; it lies 700 meters above sea-level and it can be accessed by following the Strada Statale 586 at Chiavari deep into the hinterland. That road runs from Val Fontanabuona to Piacenza.
