Description:
Paciugo is a traditional speciality from Portofino.
This sundae was invented as far back as 1941, by family Repetto in their “Caffè Excelsior” in
Portofino. Mrs Repetto combined various varieties of ice cream, mixed fruits, syrup and cream.
When asked about the name of her creation, she replied: “U lé un paciugo!” - literally: “it’s a
jumble!”
Main ingredients:
200g vanilla ice cream,
200g chocolate ice cream,
200g fresh mixed fruit,
4 tbsp. strawberry or raspberry syrup,
pickled cherries,
whipped cream,
some whiskey
Preparation:
First pour some whiskey into the ice cream glasses. Then add the cooled cream and the
different ice cream varieties. Garnish with the pickled cherries, mixed fruit and the syrup.
